竺法蘭尊者

中印度人，通達禪思，博學多聞，為當時印度學者之師。東漢明帝時（永平十年，67A.D.），與迦葉摩騰尊者同來中國，駐錫白馬寺，合譯《四十二章經》。

Gobharana

From central India, Gobharana was well-versed in Chan philosophy. Erudite and knowledgeable, he was considered a teacher to the Indian scholars of the time. During the reign of Emperor Ming of the Eastern Han Dynasty (67 A.D.), he traveled to China with Kasyapa Matanga. They stayed at Baima Temple (White Horse Temple) and translated The Sutra of Forty-Two Chapters.
